What Mattress is Best for You?

A mattress is a big investment and one that's well worth it – a good quality mattress is one of the most important factors in getting a good night's sleep. There's a mattress out there for everyone but that means there's a lot of choice! How do you know which one is right for you? Check out our guide to mattresses below – and once you've found the perfect one for you, come check out our selection for up to 50% off what you'd pay elsewhere.

First, how do you know if you need a new mattress? Medical specialists say that if you regularly wake up in the morning with lower back pain, it's time for a new mattress. For most mattresses, that's about 8 years.

Coil or Spring Mattresses – These are the most universally comfortable mattresses because springs tend to offer the firmest support but a spring or coil mattress is especially great for those with back pain or trouble getting in and out of bed.

Memory Foam – Because it molds to your body shape, memory foam is ideal for people with chronic fatigue or specific muscle aches. It's also great for toss-and-turners – or more specifically, for their partners! If you're sharing the bed, memory foam absorbs more movement than other mattresses meaning you won't wake your partner if you move around.

Some people say that memory foam mattresses get too hot for them to sleep comfortably – try our cooling gel memory foam mattress for cooling comfort.

Pillow Top – Pillow top mattresses aren't actually different from coil or spring mattresses, at least on the inside. They also have spring coils inside for support but if you're looking for a little more comfort and luxurious cushion, a spring mattress with pillow top might be perfect for you.

Adjustable beds – Adjustable beds are ideal for people who have difficult changing position in bed or people who love to watch TV in bed. They're also often preferable to normal beds for people suffering from sleep apnea or acid reflux – you should see a doctor if you're not sure if you have any of these conditions or if an adjustable bed would be helpful.

Adjustable beds can be expensive – a more affordable option is to get an adjustable bed base that you can put your existing or new mattress on. This will allow you to have the freedom of movement from an adjustable base with the comfort of your preferred mattress.
